National travel publication lists Branson as one of the best small towns to live – Missourinet

Travel and Leisure magazine has named Branson tenth on its list of ‘Best Small Towns to Live.’ Heather Hermen with the Branson Chamber of Commerce told Missourinet the high ranking is not just because the southwest Missouri city is an entertainment destination, it’s also affordable.

“I relocated here from Arizona,” she said. “My family will be joining me next year. So, obviously I came for the position, but the fact that we can live here and afford to live here and find housing is definitely an attraction.”

Branson is known for its numerous entertainment theaters for music and dance, in addition to well-known attractions such as Silver Dollar City and Table Rock Lake.

“I think that the small-town appeal is definitely there, and people are relocating from larger communities to smaller destinations like Branson,” Hermen said. “What’s great about Branson is, yes, we have 10,500 residents, but we have all of the amenities of a large community.”

Real estate agent April Redford told the magazine that the Ozark town is known for both natural beauty and affordable real estate. The current median home value is $262,000.
