Naugatuck asks residents, businesses to report flood damage

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WFSB) – The borough of Naugatuck has requested reports on damage to commercial and residential properties.

Naugatuck and surrounding towns were impacted on Sunday by at least 10 inches of rain that fell quickly.

Severe flooding on Sunday caused significant destruction, washing away foundations and rendering six affected homes uninhabitable.

As a result, officials are collecting information to determine if it’s eligible for federal post-disaster programs.

The reports are crucial for the county’s efforts to receive funding.

If financial assistance becomes available, residents will be notified.

However, the process does not guarantee disaster relief assistance and should not replace reporting damage to your insurance agency.
