NBC Sports ‘likely’ to introduce ‘multiview’ feature for Premier League coverage
NBC Sports is “likely” to enhance its Premier League coverage with the introduction of a new “multiview” feature, offering fans the ability to watch multiple games simultaneously.
During a Thursday conference call focused on the 2024 Paris Olympics, NBC Sports president Rick Cordella hinted at the upcoming addition, suggesting that viewers could soon enjoy the feature during the 10am ET (3pm UK time) match window on Saturday mornings.
Cordella highlighted the success of “multiview “during NBC’s Olympics coverage and expressed excitement about bringing a similar innovation to its Premier League broadcasts.
“There’s a point in here, ‘multiview’ is an easy one,” he said. “We released it just at the start of these Games. You’re likely to see it in Premier League coverage on Saturday mornings. That’s one we invested in.
“I think adding entertainment, making shows fun. I think what Molly (Solomon, executive producer at NBC Sports) and the team have done in prime time; we’re looking to do that a lot more in other concepts throughout the year.”

The “multiview” feature has already gained popularity in other sports, with YouTube TV implementing it for NFL Sunday Ticket last year.
NBC Sports has held the exclusive rights to broadcast the Premier League in the United States since 2013, during which time the network has overseen a significant increase in the top flight’s audience and popularity. The latest six-year contract, which began in 2022, is valued at $450million per season — more than five times the value of the initial deal struck in 2013.
Jon Miller, a leading executive at NBC Sports, previously told The Athletic he is pushing for an in-season match to be played in the United States.
“At some point in the future, I would love to see a couple of Premier League games open the season here in big stadiums on our opening weekend,” he said in April. “And I know that’s something that we’ll continue to push for because I think that there’s an American audience here that would like to see regular season games but in the meantime, we’ll continue to work with the Premier League to do everything we can to make the games available to as many people as possible.”
The Premier League’s 2024-25 season kicks off on August 16, with NBC Sports airing all 10 matches of the opening weekend.
