NCAA Tournament: College World Series schedule, bracket, TV info for UNC baseball

CHAPEL HILL — UNC baseball and Virginia will play the opening game of the 77th College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska. 

The fourth-seeded Tar Heels (47-14) and the 12th-seeded Cavaliers (46-15) play at 2 p.m. (ESPN) Friday at Charles Schwab Field Omaha. The winner will play top-seeded Tennessee (55-12) or eighth-seeded Florida State (47-15) on Sunday at 7 p.m. (ESPN). 

UNC, which is in the College World Series for the 12th time in program history and first time since 2018, swept West Virginia in the Chapel Hill Super Regional. Virginia, which is headed to Omaha for the third time in the last four seasons, is 5-0 in the NCAA Tournament. The Cavaliers won two out of three games against UNC in April.

The Tar Heels are hosting a send-off celebration at Boshamer Stadium at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The team will come onto the concourse at 1:45 p.m. before departing from the main entrance at 2.
