Nebraska Sports Council talks upcoming fall events

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – With the change of seasons, many sports enthusiasts and active families are looking forward to all the sports and games that come with it. The Nebraska Sports Council, which is celebrating 40 years, is the non-profit behind the state games that draws participants from all parts of the Good Life.

Now that the state games have come to an end, themed events and tournaments have commenced beginning with NSC’s ‘Golf for Gold’ Scramble and Auction. It is happening on Monday, Sept. 9. Participants who have already registered will get to play 18 holes; driving range, and practice green. They will also have a chance to win prizes.

After Monday’s event, sports fans can look forward to the Nebraska Netfest Volleyball and Pickleball Tournaments. That’s happening October 12-13 in Kearney. Registration for the tournaments ends Friday, Sept. 27. For more information on how to sign up, click here.

Last but certainly not least, registration for the long-awaited Pumpkin Run is now open. The Pumpkin Run is a 1-mile youth fun run that travels through the Historic Haymarket. Students from Pre-K to Middle School will participate in the run which summons children from schools across Nebraska.
