(Neighbor) Hood Fest: Here are all the details on this new Baton Rouge event

There’s a new festival in town and it takes place from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Main Library at Goodwood, 7711 Goodwood Blvd.

The first (Neighbor) Hood Fest is presented by Henry Turner Jr.’s Listening Room Museum Foundation, which most recently put on the Baton Rouge Soul Food Festival. The new event is “about unity and community,” according to the foundation.

(Neighbor) Hood Festival will include a pre-party from 7 p.m. to midnight Thursday, July 25, at Henry Turner Jr.’s Listening Room, 2733 North St. Admission is $30 and includes a buffet and cash bar.

The free, family-friendly festival will feature musical performers and film screenings (see accompanying schedules).

In addition to the foundation, sponsors are Visit Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Public Libraries and New Orleans Original Daiquiris.

For more information, visit www.htjmuseum.org or call (225) 802-9681.
