ESCANABA, Mich. (WLUC) – Community members who want to go camping but don’t have a tent or camping gear or even the right vehicle might find a solution at a new business in Escanaba.

Wander UP Overland has two four-wheel Jeeps. They come equipped with a rooftop tent with a king-sized mattress. There’s also a cook stove, utensils, camp chairs and more.

Owners Lynn and Amber Hartman said they rented a similar unit on vacation. They decided to bring the idea back to the U.P.

”I think the biggest thing is we want people to know that yes, you can do this,” Lynn said. “I’ve set it up a few times. You might say, ‘It’s going to take me a half hour, right?’ I’m like, ‘No, it’s going to take a couple of minutes. We’re going to show you how. It’s easy to do. You can do this.’”

The Hartman’s said the only things campers need to provide are sleeping bags, pillows, fuel for the car, a stove and a sense of adventure.
