New business in Sioux Falls donates tires to Thrive Mobile Market
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Les Schwab Tires celebrated its grand opening on Friday by donating new tires to Sioux Falls Thrive’s Mobile Market, which supplies discounted food for residents in need.
Les Schwab in Sioux Falls opened on May 8, but is celebrating their grand opening May 31-June 1. During the grand opening, Les Schwab will match Sioux Falls Thrive gift cards purchased for the mobile market up to $500 and on Friday, they installed $1,900 worth of tires on the Mobile Market vehicle.
“We’re highly dedicated to helping out the community, providing world-class customer service and just being members of the community and taking care of people,” said Les Schwab Tires store manager Cameron Fahl.
Sioux Falls Thrive President Michelle Erpenbach said she was shocked when she received the call from Les Schwab a few months ago, but the offer was very welcomed.
“When you talk about affordable groceries and how expensive eggs are, to have to then go and buy tires as well, it just adds to that overhead. So, it’s a dramatic gift for us and just so generous. We’re just really grateful that this opportunity came up,” said Erpenbach.
The chain of auto repair shops was created in 1952 and there over 540 locations nationwide. Currently, there are three South Dakota locations in Sioux Falls, Mitchell and Watertown. Stores in Yankton, Aberdeen and Vermillion are planned for later this year.
