New Lincoln job search tool to connect employers and job seekers

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development and CareerPathway.com announced a partnership with the city, local businesses and organizations on Monday, hoping to find success for employers and job seekers through a career readiness resource.

CareerPathway.com functions as a social media platform for employers to fill job openings and for job seekers to apply for new opportunities. It also serves as an application for students that are trying to figure out career opportunities. It was built in collaboration with Don’t Panic Labs.

Businesses can post their own content that shows off what they do and how those that are looking for a job can reach out to them.

CareerPathway.com was built to help students and job seekers find their path to a rewarding career, to help colleges fill classrooms and to help businesses find talent,” said Bo Jones, CEO and founder of CareerPathway.com.

LPED Vice President Luke Peltz said that through cultivating the talent pipeline and working close with local partners and resources like CareerPathway.com are significant in developing a workforce that meets the needs of the community.

In the next months, CareerPathway.com plans to add local employers as the platform grows to include more specific career pathways with detailed, high-wage, high-skill and high-demand occupations with increased career readiness resources.

In building up the resource, Lincoln Public Schools, Southeast Community College, American Job Center of Lancaster and Saunders Counties and many local businesses have become involved.

“The mission of Lincoln Public Schools is to prepare all students for successful careers, lifelong learning and civic engagement,” said LPS Superintendent Paul Gausman. “To help us work towards our mission, CareerPathway.com has collaborated with us to ensure student privacy while connecting our students with local organizations and help them explore possibilities.”

LPED said that through this partnership, they hope to get the community to work together to solve workforce related challenges by involving public and private entities, to give students and job seekers the chance to search for a wide range of options.

LPED said the city of Lincoln allocated funding for the partnership between LPED and CareerPathway.com through Lincoln’s American Rescue Plan Act Workforce Development Training Grant. Since ARPA funds were made available in 2021, the city has allocated $13.5 million for workforce development.

CareerPathway.com is an important platform to help match job seekers with the employment opportunities they need to thrive,” said Dylan Wren, city of Lincoln and American Job Center of Lancaster and Saunders Counties.
