ALLENTOWN, Pa. – For two decades Pine’s Dinner Theatre has been providing a very unique night out. “One stop entertainment destination with a full course dinner before every show and then a live Broadway musical,” said, Pine’s Dinner Theatre producer, Oliver Blatt.
You know the saying, “The show must go on.” But, sadly that’s not always the case. For Pine’s Dinner Theatre, the show will go on eventually, it just didn’t happen Friday night as planned. Blatt said, “Unfortunately, we had a little bit of a delay with one of our subcontractors.”
Finding a location that could house a restaurant and a stage wasn’t easy. Last summer their lease at the Allentown Fairgrounds wasn’t renewed, thankfully, they’ve found the perfect spot at: 315 S Cedar Crest Boulevard.
“So, for those who have been to our old theater, the sitting area is, I won’t say it’s significantly bigger, but it’s bigger,” said Blatt. “The stage is bigger, but we haven’t lost the original charm that we had at the fairgrounds in Allentown.”
Blatt said the contractors have been hitting it out of the park and he’s confident they’ll open at the end of the month with the perfect holiday show, “White Christmas.”
“When we started 20 years ago it was four friends doing a show in a barn and here we are, 20 years later, opening ‘White Christmas,’ which is four friends doing a show in a barn.”
Blatt said he’s dreaming of a white Christmas. He knows it will be a reality soon at the new Pine’s Dinner Theatre. He said, “I know our guests can’t wait for us to open and we can’t wait to see them all again.”
