Among the titles heading home Oct. 29 are Joker: Folie à Deux and Piece by Piece from digital retailers, with disc releases including The Falling Star and 4K Blu-rays for Addams Family Values and Drag Me to Hell.

Joker: Folie à Deux will be released for premium digital purchase and rental Oct. 29 by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment. The follow-up to 2019’s Academy Award-winning Joker is a musical that finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that’s always been inside him. The new film stars Joaquin Phoenix once again in his Oscar-winning dual role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, opposite Oscar winner Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born). The cast also includes Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Catherine Keener (Get Out, Capote), alongside Zazie Beetz, reprising her role from Joker. It arrives on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray Disc and DVD Dec. 17.

The Lego-animated biopic Piece by Piece will be released for premium digital rental and sale Oct. 29 from Focus Features and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The animated film follows the life of cultural icon and musician Pharrell Williams told through the lens of Lego animation. The film is directed by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville (20 Feet from Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor) and includes performances by Pharrell Williams, Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD Dec. 17. 

The horror film Amityville: Where the Echo Lives will be released via on demand and for digital purchase  Oct. 29 from Lionsgate. In the film, when Heather West, a paranormal investigator, receives a call from a terrified woman who claims her house is inhabited by a ghost, she discovers the building has a horrifying history. After a presence from beyond our world reaches out to her, Heather begins to feel a pull to the other side of the spirit plane. Can this hunter of specters deliver an innocent soul to a place of peace and discover an eternal truth in time to save her own life?

Kino Lorber Oct. 29 releases the French-language comic crime movie The Falling Star on Blu-ray Disc and DVD. The Falling Star mixes slapstick and burlesque, with a colorful palette and clownish plot twists. Abel plays Boris, a former activist hiding from his dark past, keeping in the shadows as a barkeeper, until a one-armed vigilante finally hunts him down. The fortuitous appearance of a double — the depressive recluse Dom (also played by Abel) seems to offer the perfect decoy. But his tenacious and loopy ex-wife, the private eye Fiona (Gordon), could foil their master plan. Directed by Fiona Gordon and Dominique Abel, the film stars Abel, Gordon, Kaori Ito, Philippe Martz, and Bruno Romy.

The music documentary No Rewind: The Orchestra Starring ELO Former Members will be released for digital rental and sale Oct. 29 from Stadium Media. In the documentary, members of the classic rock band The Orchestra, comprised of former members of the Electric Light Orchestra, recount the history of the band and how the album of original songs No Rewind came to be. Conspicuously absent is Jeff Lynne, who cofounded the band with Roy Wood and Bev Bevan. Since 1972 he has been ELO’s leader, arranging and producing every album and writing most of their original material. Members of The Orchestra began touring as ELO Part II before they lost the rights to the ELO when Bevan sold his share of the ELO name to Lynne when he left the band in 2000. No Rewind: The Orchestra Starring ELO Former Members will be available on Amazon Prime Video, Comcast, Cox, Google Play, Microsoft Store/Xbox, Kaleidescape and YouTube Movies.

The horror film Pesadilla will be released for digital purchase and rental as well as streaming on Oct. 29 from BayView Entertainment. After a house robbery fails, a group of thieves decide to try again in a house with a grieving family — but something sinister lurks in the darkness. Directed by Dylan Anglin, the film stars Anthony Garcia, Mike Davis and Gavin Cade Hulberg.

BayView Entertainment will release the documentary Rise Above: The Journey to College Basketball on AVOD platforms Oct. 29. Amid a series of setbacks including family hardships and tragedies, personal injuries, scholarship woes, and the COVID-19 pandemic shut-downs, these players do all they can to overcome the obstacles in their paths and achieve their shared dream of playing college basketball.

Director Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1993 comedy Addams Family Values will debut on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Oct. 29 from Paramount Home Entertainment. In the film, Gomez (Raul Julia) and Morticia (Anjelica Huston) welcome a new addition to the Addams household — Pubert, their soft, cuddly, and mustachioed baby boy. As Fester (Christopher Lloyd) falls hard for the new nanny (Joan Cusack), cynically suspicious Wednesday (Christina Ricci) and Pugsley (Jimmy Workman) discover she’s a black-widow murderess. Though they’re shipped off to summer camp, Wednesday still has a Thing or two planned to save Fester and the family. The film has been newly remastered from the original camera negative. The release includes access to a digital copy of the film and new bonus content.

Shout! Studios’ Scream Factory imprint will release the 2009 horror film Drag Me to Hell as a three-disc 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray collector’s edition Oct. 29. Directed by Sam Raimi, the film stars Alison Lohman as a woman whose decision at work leaves an elderly lady without a home. Now plagued by an evil curse, she has only three days to dissuade a dark spirit from stealing her soul before she is dragged to hell for an eternity of unthinkable torment. The cast also includes Justin Long. The film is showcased with a new scan from the original camera negative approved by Raimi and editor Bob Murawski. Both the unrated and theatrical cuts of the film are included on 4K disc and regular Blu-ray with a slew of bonus materials. Disc one is a 4K Ultra HD disc with both the unrated and theatrical versions presented in Dolby Vision. Disc two sports a regular Blu-ray Disc with the unrated version and new extras. Disc three offers the theatrical version on a regular Blu-ray, with legacy extras.

Ultraman Blazar: The Complete Series plus Ultraman Blazar the Movie: Tokyo Kaiju Showdown will be released on Blu-ray together on Oct. 29 from Mill Creek Entertainment. In Ultraman Blazar: The Complete Series, Captain Gento Hiruma, shrouded by Ultraman Blazar’s light, battles against kaiju with dauntless courage and an unwavering sense of justice. In Ultraman Blazar the Movie: Tokyo Kaiju Showdown, when a powerful substance gives birth to a terrifying new kaiju, Ultraman Blazar and SKaRD clash with the monster in the middle of Tokyo.

Lionsgate will release the sci-fi actioner Borderlands via VOD rental Oct. 29. The film is already available for purchase on disc and digital. Based on the “Borderlands” video game series, the film from director Eli Roth follows a team of misfits as the search for the missing daughter of the most powerful man in the universe. The cast includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu and Jamie Lee Curtis.
