New travel center coming to Enterprise, catered to truck drivers

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) – A new travel center is on its way to Enterprise.

The city broke ground on Friday for the Legacy Truck Stop and Travel Plaza, an $8 million project.

Located at the intersection of Salem Road and Highway 167, it’s the first major center catered towards truckers.

”I always wanted to have something for truckers to have their lunch, shower, relaxation time, and park their trucks all night. There is nothing in town like this,” Varun Patel, one of the center’s owners, said.

”Having a travel center here in enterprise with all the expansion, with all the manufacturing and things on the horizon for us, we look forward to having not only for the beach traffic to have a nice place to stop coming into Enterprise but also all those guys on the road overnight trucking and stuff to have options for them,” Todd Boland, the other owner of the center, said.

The center will also create 30 jobs.

Construction is set to start on Monday.

The center is expected to be complete in a year.
