South Shore Little League from Staten Island has survived and advanced in the 2024 Little League World Series.
After dropping their first game in Williamsport, Pa. last week, the team representing the Metro region has stayed alive on the elimination side of the bracket, winning consecutive games to keep their title hopes within reach.
South Shore now knows their next opponent, time and date to keep their championship hopes afloat.

New York LLWS moving forward
Now coming off back-to-back wins on Saturday and Sunday, South Shore got the day off on Monday.
They now play Lake Mary Little League (Southeast) of Florida in a win-or-go home matchup on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. from Lamade Stadium.
What was the result of New York LLWS game vs Hinsdale?
South Shore put together their best effort in their most recent contest in a 4-0 victory over Hinsdale Little League (Great Lakes), who is now eliminated from the LLWS.
It all came together for the Metro in the fourth inning, scoring all four runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Pitcher Vincent Ruggiero threw five shutout innings with seven strikeouts to keep the team from Great Lakes off the scoreboard before Dean Scarangello held off a potential rally from Sioux Falls in the sixth inning and closed the door.
South Shore first staved off elimination with a 6-3 win over Sioux Falls Little League (Midwest), where nine of 12 hitters recorded a hit and six notched an RBI as Staten Island moved on.

The entire LLWS (39 games) will air and broadcast on ESPN, ABC and ESPN2 and streaming on ESPN+ and the ESPN app.

What to know about the New York Little League team
South Shore Little League from Staten Island, New York, is representing the Metro Region after being crowned regional champions in a 5-0 victory over Morristown Little League (New Jersey) last week.
They’re aiming to become the second Little League team in the past decade to be crowned champion from New York when Maine-Endwell Little League brought the championship back to the Empire State in 2016.

South Shore Little League is located on Staten Island, New York. It’s just under 40 miles from Yankee Stadium and is 37 miles from Citi Field. This is the third appearance for South Shore in the Little League World Series and first in 33 years when they made it to Williamsport, Pa. in 1991.
