NFL scores: Lions make huge statement with win at Packers, Eagles hold on for win vs. Jaguars

Here’s a sentence that hasn’t been uttered much over the past several decades: The Detroit Lions are the clear-cut top team in the NFC. After a 24-14 win at Lambeau Field, which has been a house of horrors for the Lions over the past 30 years the Packers are now 25-6 at Lambeau Field against the Lions since 1994. Jared Goff was, once again, very efficient going 18-for-22 for 166 yards and a touchdown in some soggy and windy conditions in Green Bay. The Lions rolled up 124 rushing yards as they improved to 7-1 on the season and in position for the first-round bye in the NFC.

In Philadelphia, the Eagles held off a comeback attempt by the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 28-23 win. DeVonta Smith (four catches, 87 yards, TD) and Saquon Barkley (27 carries, 159 yards, TD; three catches, 40 yards, TD) turned in some ridiculous highlights in the win. Philadelphia lead 22-0 with under six minutes to go in the third quarter.

Live32 updates

  • DeMarcus Robinson beats the Seahawks in overtime with this ridiculous one-handed grab

There are no and-1s in Football, but there could have ben a flag thrown on this play. Regardless, this DIME from Matthew Stafford gets the Rams to 4-4, just a half game back of the division-leading Arizona Cardinals.

  • Lions close out Packers with 24-14 win

  • Kamren Kinchens has been the Seahawks’ worst nightmare today

After his 103-yard pick-6, Kinchens halts a Seattle drive in the red zone once again.

  • Packers cut into Lions lead late

Green Bay still has some life, but they’re got lots of work to do — Emanuel Wilson cut the lead in half with this touchdown before Jordan Love connected with Christian Watson for the two-point conversion to make it a 10-point game with under four minutes to go.

  • Final: Cardinals 29, Bears 9

The Cardinals cruised to a dominant 20-point win over the Bears, who had another brutal defensive blunder after last week’s Hail Mary fail.

  • Geno Smith pick-6!

That’s a brutal throw by Geno Smith, and Kamren Kinchens just ran it back 103 yards for a touchdown. The Rams are suddenly up 20-13.

  • DeVonta Smith!

What a grab by DeVonta Smith!! That’s a ridiculous one-handed catch for another Eagles touchdown.

  • Well, that’s one way to stop an onside kick.

  • A.J. Brown is officially out for the Eagles, but they’re hanging on for now in the fourth quarter in Philadelphia.

  • Rams score to open second half

After completely falling apart at the end of the first half, Matthew Stafford and the Rams opened the third quarter with a long 11-play touchdown drive.

    The Seahawks lead 13-10 now.

  • Jaguars score again!

Well that flipped fast in Philadelphia. Saquon Barkley just fumbled on the Eagles’ first play of the drive, and Walker ran it back 35 yards for a touchdown. Suddenly, the Jaguars are within a single score.

  • Jaguars find the end zone

The Jaguars are finally on the board in Philly. Trevor Lawrence just ran it in for a touchdown, and then he hit Thomas to convert the 2-point conversion. The Eagles’ lead is 22-8 now.

  • Lions pushing their lead

Jahmyr Gibbs just found the end zone on fourth down, and the Lions are running away with this thing in Green Bay.

  • Jalen Hurts runs it in

Jalen Hurts just extended the Eagles’ lead after a long touchdown run of his own.

  • Seahawks score after Nacua’s ejection

The Seahawks took full advantage of an awful end to the half by the Rams. Geno just found Smith-Njigba for their second touchdown in the final minute of the half, and suddenly the Seahawks are up 13-3.

  • Puka Nacua ejected for throwing a punch

Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was just ejected right before halftime in Seattle. After a Matthew Stafford interception, Nacua threw a punch.

  • Seahawks finally find the end zone

Finally, we’ve got a touchdown in Seattle. Geno Smith just hit Tyler Lockett to put the Seahawks up before halftime.

The Seahawks just intercepted Matthew Stafford, too.

  • Jordan Love with a terrible pick-6 to Kirby Joseph

This one could be caused by Love’s inability to move like he wants because of the groin injury, but just an incredibly poor decision, and Kirby Joseph’s league-leading sixth interception on the season is a Lions’ touchdown, and Detroit now leads 17-3.

  • The Cardinals are in control against the Bears

Arizona has been quietly hanging around .500, and can get to 5-4 with a win over Chicago and stay connected in the NFC playoff picture. They look like they’re on their way now after Emari DeMercado’s 53-yard touchdown to put the Cardinals up 21-9 at the end of the first half.

  • Saquon Barkley, AGAIN!

A 3rd and 17 draw play is often a safety call to get in better position for a field goal or punt. But apparently Saquon Barkley isn’t too into punts, or what would have been a field goal try in this case. He’s got another game with multiple scores today against Jacksonville, and Philadelphia is out to a three-score lead heading toward halftime.
