Lock Selection: San Francisco 49ers

This week, we have just three-point spreads over 5 points, which can make a difficult survivor season even more difficult. Nonetheless, we are rolling with the 49ers this week. San Francisco is getting healthier as the weeks go on, although they will be without their star running back, Christian McCaffery, once again.

The Niners have looked decent this season, beating the Jets and Patriots but falling to the Vikings and Rams. Deebo Samuel will be healthy and playing in this one, although Fred Warner and Talanoa Hufanga are questionable.

On the other hand, the Cardinals are 1-3 but seem like a much better team than their record indicates. Their offense has the potential to be explosive on any given week. Kyler Murray to Marvin Harrison will be a connection for years to come. They need to figure out some semblance of a defense under Jonathan Gannon.

Brock Purdy and this Niners offense should be able to go up and down the field and score points. I am also counting on the 49ers’ defensive line to stop James Connor in the run game and really force Murray to beat them down the field with chunk plays. This game could be super high-scoring, but I’ll be rolling with SF!

Contrarian Selection: Denver Broncos

The Broncos travel home after defeating the Jets in one of the worst NFL football games I have ever seen. Denver takes on the Raiders in Week 5 in an AFC West division matchup. To be honest, I don’t think the Broncos are a very good team. Their defense is much improved from a year ago, but their offense has been putrid through the first four weeks of the season.

I’ll be fading the Raiders in this spot because of all the drama surrounding their star receiver, Davante Adams. Head coach Antonio Pierce liked a post on social media about trading Adams off the Raiders. Not a great look there at all. I do like some of the things the Raiders were doing as an organization, but in this case, it’s tough not to say ‘same old Raiders.’

At home, I especially think the Broncos will take care of a Raiders team that was dealing with headlines all week.
