NFL world reacts to Aaron Rodgers throwing his 500th career passing touchdown

If this indeed is Aaron Rodgers’ final game of his historic NFL career, he’ll go out with a milestone.

Touchdown No. 500.

Rodgers, who spent the first 18 years of his career with the Green Bay Packers, achieved his 500th career passing touchdown in the second quarter Sunday during the New York Jets’ game against the Miami Dolphins.

Trailing 6-0, Rodgers stepped up in the pocket to avoid the pass rush on a first-and-goal from the 5-yard line and found a wide-open Tyler Conklin in the end zone.

Rodgers added a touchdown pass later in the second quarter to Allen Lazard, the former Packers wide receiver who joined the Jets last year shortly before Rodgers was traded to New York.

Rodgers becomes just the fifth quarterback in NFL history to throw 500 career touchdowns, joining Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning and Brett Favre.

Rodgers threw 475 of his now 501 TD passes with the Packers.

It’s been a season to forget for the Jets. But for Rodgers, who called the last two years with the Jets the “best of his life” despite being injured last year and suffering through one of his worst statistical seasons in 2024, the historic touchdown provided him with potentially one last highlight in his eventual Hall of Fame career.
