As you may have noticed, Nicole Kidman is kind of everywhere at the moment.
For almost the entirety of this year, the Australian actor has been on the road promoting various projects, starting with the Prime Video series Expats back in January.
And then came promo for The Perfect Couple, which marked her second Netflix release of the year.
Now, with only a few months left of 2024, you’d expect Nicole might be ready for some well-earned downtime. But no, the 57-year-old mom of two was back on the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday, celebrating the upcoming launch of Lioness Season 2 on Paramount+.
Of course, it’s easy to question why an Oscar-winning actor of Nicole’s caliber would be taking on so many roles at this point in her career. But, while speaking to Variety this week, she explained that her desire to work is less about herself and more about helping others.
“In this weird way, there are so many opportunities in terms of being able to be of service to the people who are coming up and using what I have and can do for people like Helena [Reijn],” she said, referring to the writer and director of her next movie, Babygirl, which comes out in December.
It goes without saying that working so much can sometimes come at a cost, so Nicole clarified that she prioritizes her health on the road, saying: “I have the passion. I’ve just got to take care of my body.”
Nicole has a handful of exciting roles lined up in the future, including Season 2 of Hulu’s Nine Perfect Strangers, an animated movie called Spellbound, a thriller called Holland, Michigan, and Amazon’s Scarpetta.
And amid mounting speculation that she’s headed for a 2025 Oscar nomination for Babygirl, things probably won’t be slowing down for Nicole anytime soon — not that she minds, of course.
“This is what I dreamed of since I was a little girl,” she told Variety this week. “I love what I do so I’m going [to] just give it my all, and then I don’t go out. I go home to be with my family. We do things together. I’m not going out to nightclubs.”
