How to Fast Travel in Nine Sols

Fast travel is a highly beneficial mechanic in video games across many different genres, offering players a shortcut in jumping around locations on the world map, therefore saving themselves valuable time. Fast Travel in Nine Souls is automatically unlocked as you progress through the game, so to obtain this feature, you will only need to dedicate yourself to a bit of playtime.

To unlock fast travel for the first time, players will need to reach the Four Seasons Pavillion and locate the Root Node. Here, you will speak to Lear, and receive the item known as the Fusang Horn. After acquiring this item, fast travel will finally be unlocked for the first time and can be initiated by interacting with a Root Node.

In addition to fast travel being made available, you will now also be able to acquire skills at Root Nodes, which can help you prepare for upcoming challenges. Fast travel will transport the player from one Root Node to another, so to initiate a fast travel, players will need to locate the nearest Root Node in their designated location, and then interact with it to open the menu.

Initially, players will only be able to fast travel to the last previously visited Root Node, which is helpful, but maybe a tad restrictive. Luckily, as you make your way further through the game, this fast travel function will be improved, and you will eventually be able to choose between not only fast traveling to the last visited Root Node, but also to any Root Node that you have visited in the past, across the entire map. This enables you to revisit any area in a flash, or quickly navigate from one.
