NMU student-led business raising money for Room at the Inn
MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – A group of NMU students are using a business they created in a class project to support a Marquette nonprofit.
BoxIT U.P. gives students’ friends and families an opportunity to support them by sending snack boxes and care packages to students. The business says its mission is to make food more accessible on campus by providing snacks “for college students, by college students.”
One of BoxIT U.P.’s founding members, Orion Ingmire, says all the net proceeds the business raises will go directly to Room at the Inn.
“The cause that Room at the Inn is supporting is a growing issue in Marquette,” said Ingmire. “Each summer I see more and more people living on the street, so anything we can do to help that cause is absolutely important.”
