Nonprofit combines sports and business for kids

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – A nonprofit focuses on introducing the business world to young people by combining sports and entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth started in 2013, but this is the third year hosting their entrepreneurs in athletics and sports fundraiser.

The day was full of speakers, vendors, sports clinics and a three versus three basketball tournament.

One EC Youth board member says its important to help build the future of our generation.

“We want to make them aware of the opportunities that are out here and there’s plenty of opportunities. We just want them to be able to take advantage of them,” said board member Trevino Reid.

The event was held at Burke High School from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The CEO and founder of EC Youth, says their next even will take place in October, gearing toward culinary skills and the arts.
