North Charleston launches Small Business Enterprise Department to aid local entrepreneurs

North Charleston is hoping to better support small business owners with the launch of a new Small Business Enterprise Department.

The aim of the new program is to connect people with the resources they may need for success.

According to Frank Phillip Ancrum III, the Small Business Enterprise Department Manager, life can be hard enough without the added stress of trying to build and maintain a small business.

“They’re already doing the best they can to feed their families. They’re already doing the best they can to grind, and to really be out there every day, doing what’s in their heart. So, the least we can do is provide them with the resources and education needed,” said Ancrum.

Department leaders say that their work provides a customized solution for each business owners’ needs.

“every small business department or minority enterprise department or disadvantaged business enterprise department, they all need to be catered to the needs of the people,” he said.

The Small Business Enterprise Department can help with a variety of issues small businesses face, from creation to resources whether financial or structural. Businesses startups are welcome, as are businesses created by veterans, or even long running business who need help accessing certain resources.

Interested individuals can seek training programs, financial literacy courses, networking resources and more.

Anyone interested in the program can set up an appointment with the department online or contact Ancrum directly through his email at fancrum@northcharleston.org.
