North Platte Chamber announces new business of the year award recipient
NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) – The North Platte Chamber and Development Corporation has recognized Axes and Aces as its new business of the year award recipient. This recognition highlights the establishment’s significant impact on the community since its opening.
Axes and Aces offers a unique blend of entertainment, combining axe throwing with a vibrant social atmosphere.
For the owners Lisa Citta and Brian Schimek, this award holds significance, reflecting their dedication to creating a unique and entertainment destination.
“With so many new businesses in town being the one that was selected as the best new business came as a shock to us honestly,” said Citta. ”Everybody is in this together to make North Platte the best place possible. So for us to be named the best new business was a shocking honor and we were pretty surprised.”
Secondly, they have valued the journey and the chance to grow as business owners.
“A lot of the stuff that we took for granted is way harder than we thought it would be and there are some things that have come naturally and in support of the community it’s been great,” said Schimek. “We appreciate the patience of our customers as we navigate challenges, and were learning from some of the mistakes from we made when we first opened.”
They find it rewarding to realize how vital their presence is to the success of the business.
“As business owners it’s important for us to be here and get the feedback from customers and get the feedback back from our staff on things that are working well and that aren’t working well,” said Citta.
The Chamber’s annual awards banquet takes place at Venue 304 in North Platte on Thursday, Oct. 10.
