Northern Michigan man accused of making terrorist threats to business, law enforcement
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI — Prosecutors have charged a Grand Traverse County man with four counts of false report/threat of terrorism after he allegedly threatened numerous people last month. According to UpNorthLive, Jeffrey Topous Jr. 33, was arrested while riding his bike along Boardman Lake trail as part of an investigation that began on June 26.
It is alleged that Topous called a local business and threatened to kill an employee along with making similar threats to law enforcement. Prosecutors also accused Topous of making bomb threats to multiple buildings in Traverse City, including the courthouse and Governmental Center. Calls to those facilities led to a lockdown.
