Nova Adventure Park Proposed for Former Somerdale Esporta Fitness Space – 42 Freeway

Nova Adventure Park is an indoor trampoline and children’s activity/obstacle course space, and they are planning a new location in Somerdale NJ, taking over the recently closed Esporta Gym.

While Nova does not have other locations in our immediate area, facilities elsewhere in in the Northeast US it show they are in the exact same category as Fun City (Blackwood, Millville), Urban Air Adventures (Gloucester Twp) and Launch (Deptford).

If you’re unfamiliar with this category of children’s indoor play areas they are typically large facilities 50,000 square feet or more.

Yes trampolines are a big part of the fun but they are boosted to another level with unique implementations including angled trampolines…  Other aspects of the facility add in some ninja style obstacle course activities, climbing walls, arcade and more!

The Somerdale location is planned for the Coopertowne Shopping Center in Somerdale, located on the White Horse Pike at Evesham Road. Cinemark Movie Theaters, Walmart and Jalsa Indian Kitchen are a few of the popular businesses in the center

As mentioned the space was previously home to an Esporta Fitness location which closed in the Spring of this year (along with the Woodbury Heights location).

The large unit was originally opened as a Foodtown Supermarket back in 1989 and then became a Shop-N-Bag before closing. Then LA Fitness/Esporta moved in around 2011 after remodeling the space into a gym.

With only about 6-8 months of being vacant, it’s a nice sign for Somerdale and the surrounding communities that a new tenant (Nova Adventure Park) is already lined up to take over the large space.

This new Somerdale location will be presenting before the Planning/Zoning board on Wednesday November 20^th, solely looking for a “change of use” approval from gym to indoor adventure park.

At this time I do not have a lot of details on the specific plans for the Somerdale location of Nova Adventure Park.

Online searches show there are existing locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania Ohio and other states.

Typically we see that different facilities within this “trampoline/ninja course” category vary their offerings from location to location.

While the details for the Somerdale location are not known to me, based on an already opened 50,000sf facility in Lynnfield MA… the large Nova facility features a bright and colorful decor focused on orange and green padding, which is used for safety and to accent the fun children adventure areas.

Trampolines are the featured aspect of these children’s indoor play gyms but if you’re unfamiliar with the style trampolines… They are designed in a way that multiple trampolines are effectively connected side-by-side to each other with thick cushion padding between the trampolines… in a way it turns into a trampoline area that’s as big as a basketball court or larger!

The Massachusetts location includes some innovative trampoline uses such as specialty area where the trampolines are developed in a long and narrow netted hallway which has a basketball hoop at the end… kids can create super high flying and creative slam dunks!

A large indoor slide is part of the fun attractions in Massachusetts, and a variety of ninja style obstacle course activities are provided… including a series of elevated platforms that kids must walk across.

These trampoline adventure parks also typically include arcade games and private party rooms.
