Now You Can Shop Kate Moss and Julianne Moore’s Closets

What do Kate Moss, Julianne Moore, and Natasha Lyonne have in common? Their enviable closets, and the fact that starting today, you can shop them on The RealReal. In celebration of National Consignment Month, The RealReal ust launched its second star-studded sale in partnership with environmental leader Conservation International, featuring 230+ luxury pieces consigned by an incredible list of women who have shaped fashion, journalism, social justice, and culture.

The sale has everything from ready-to-wear and handbags to shoes and jewelry, directly from the personal wardrobes of Parker Posey, Marisa Tomei, Rebecca Hall, Emmy Rossum, Cleo Wade, and many more. Personally, I have my eye on a beautiful white trench coat from Julianne Moore, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that me and Janicza Bravo are the same shoe size because her heel collection is something to get serious about.

But this sale isn’t just about what you buy, it’s about why you buy it. In connection with the sale, The RealReal will donate $25,000 to benefit Conservation International, which works to help protect oceans, forests and other ecosystems. The goal is to highlight how high-quality fashion can endure, transcending the throwaway culture that threatens our planet. Need more convincing? I spoke to TheRealReal’s President and COO, Rati Sahi Levesque, about the importance of shopping consignment and the items she’s after (spoiler alert: I have some competition on Julianne Moore’s white trench).

What inspired National Consignment Month?

We created National Consignment Month to highlight the impact of circular fashion. Consigning gives luxury items a second life and sparks conversations around sustainability. It’s our way of celebrating the positive impact everyone can make, while encouraging more people to get involved. Ultimately, it’s about making sustainable luxury easy and accessible.

Can you tell me a little bit about Conservation International and why you chose to partner with them for this sale?

Conservation International’s mission to protect nature and everything it gives us is so perfectly aligned with what we believe as a company. They’re focused on saving the environment for future generations, and consignment is our way of doing that in the fashion world. Partnering with them lets us blend fashion with a purpose, directly supporting efforts to preserve some of the planet’s most important ecosystems—reinforcing our commitment to making a positive impact when it matters more than ever

Why would you say it’s important to shop consignment?

Shopping consignment gives luxury pieces a second life and helps cut down on waste in the fashion world. Every item consigned avoids the landfill and reduces the need for more stuff to be produced. Plus, it makes luxury more accessible—you can find amazing vintage, rare, and iconic pieces you might not come across otherwise. It’s really about making smart, thoughtful choices that are good for your closet and the planet.

Beyond new items in their closet, what do you hope that your members take away from this sale?

We hope our members walk away with a deeper understanding of the power of their purchases. When they shop consignment, they’re making a statement that fashion can be sustainable and still luxurious. They’re also supporting a circular economy that helps reduce the environmental impact of the fashion industry. I want our members to feel good knowing that their choices are making a real difference and contributing to a more sustainable future.

What is your favorite thing about shopping secondhand?

For me, it’s the thrill of discovery. There’s something so special about finding a unique piece with a story behind it—whether it’s a vintage designer bag or a rare piece of jewelry.

How did this list of sellers come together?

We really admire how each of these women is making waves in her industry and driving positive change. Whether it’s through fashion, art, or activism, they’re breaking boundaries and creating impact. We wanted to highlight sellers who inspire us and reflect our values of thoughtful, meaningful choices.

If you could shop one contributing person’s closet, who would it be?

I don’t think I can choose just one!

Any specific piece from the sale that you’re eyeing?

There are certainly a few. With colder weather in mind, I’ve been eyeing a trench by The Row from Julianne Moore and a Max Mara sherpa from Sabine Getty. But then we also received some pretty phenomenal bags…a bold, red one by Patou from Natasha Lyonne and a Prada one from Rebecca Hall come to mind.
