New York State’s private sector added 6,900 jobs in June, a 0.1% increase, according to the Department of Labor. The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 4.2%.
The job growth matches the national increase of 0.1%. Over the past year, New York saw a 1.3% rise in private sector jobs, below the national rate of 1.5%.
The state’s labor force participation rate held at 61.3%, despite a decrease of 3,000 in the labor force. The data highlights ongoing efforts to boost employment while maintaining a stable unemployment rate.
