NYS Responsible Play Partnership proposes new regulations for mobile sports betting

Waterloo, N.Y.— State officials are shining a spotlight on new efforts to promote responsible gaming.

Members of the Del Lago Resort & Casino joined forces Wednesday with New York State’s Responsible Play Partnership — which combines the state’s Gaming Commission, Office of Addition Services and Supports and the Council on Problem Gambling — to highlight the resources available to people dealing with problem gambling.

The commission also proposed new regulations requiring mobile sports wager operators to report statistics and demographic information.

The group is urging people to take advantage of the many services available.

“Whether someone is reaching out for themselves or a loved one, we aim to make their access to support straight and confidential,” said Evan Ellison program manager for the Finger Lakes Problem Gambling Resource Council. “Anyone seeking help deserves to have a dignified safe experience, and that’s what we strive to do with every interaction.”

The group said the long-term goal is to build a stronger framework for future play.
