OFD firefighters travel to Lucas Oil Stadium for 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) – The Owensboro Fire Department made the trip up to Indianapolis this week to take on the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

Officials say they joined firefighters from around the world to honor the 343 fallen fire service members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

OFD firefighters participated by climbing 110 stories in their firefighting gear.

“We are super proud of a group of OFD’s finest who travelled to FDIC in Indianapolis to participate in their 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb,” said the fire department on social media.
