ONTARIO — The OhioHealth Ontario Health and Fitness Center is offering a week-long open house to encourage senior fitness in the new year.
The fitness center is located at 1750 W. 4th Street. The event began Saturday, Jan. 4, and ends Jan. 11.
The fitness center is providing tours, as well free workouts and group exercise classes.
The event is open to anyone, but seniors are especially encouraged to take advantage of a one-on-one appointment with an exercise physiologist and choose from more than 40 senior-friendly group exercise classes.
The center is also offering a discounted senior rate of $35 per month for a limited time for seniors who don’t have insurance to cover the cost of their gym membership.
“We don’t want finances to be a barrier for anyone looking to improve their health,” said Exercise Physiologist Emily Freeman. “That’s why we’re offering discounted rates for seniors, as well as fitness plans for beginners.
“We want our community to be able to make lasting health changes, no matter what stages of life they are in.”
The fitness center is also offering a starter package for beginners, including a one-on-one consultation with a personal trainer, as well as a personal training appointment.
