Oklahoma is reportedly hiring Washington State offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle as its new offensive coordinator, per ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Arbuckle has served as Washington State’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the past two seasons. He was in the same role in 2022 with Western Kentucky, where he coached the 15th best scoring offense in the country.
The 29-year-old took over for Washington State one year after they finished 79th in scoring nationally. He helped them improve to 38th in 2023 and 12th in 2024.
Washington State redshirt sophomore quarterback John Mateer finished the 2024 season with 3,139 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
OU sophomore quarterback Jackson Arnold has not declared whether he’ll return to the Sooners next season.
