Top cap off her senior year, Dunne and the LSU Tigers won the school’s first-ever gymnastics national title, scoring 198.2250 to take the crown in a tightly contested competition.
“Best day ever!” wrote Dunne, the social media and name, image and likeness (NIL) star on her Instagram Story after the win.
LSU barely edged out California, which came in second with an overall 197.8500 score.
Utah came in third while Florida rounded out the top four.
“Every team was out there fighting for their lives and all four teams, it could have gone any of four ways out there today,” LSU coach Jay Clark told ESPN. “I think as much as I feel for what happened to Oklahoma in the semifinals, I think it made for a championship that became so packed with emotion because every team out there believed they could do it, and it was just tremendous.”
Aleah Finnegan also came in first on the floor with a 9.9625 score.
