MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – One person was hospitalized after a late-night shooting at a Martinsville sports bar, police said.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill on Spruce St.

Police told WDBJ7 officers arrived to find a man who had been shot in the leg. He was taken to an area hospital and has since been released.

The restaurant’s manager told WDBJ7 a woman, who had previously caused issues at the business, entered around 11:30 p.m. with a man.

A short time later, shots rang out in the parking lot.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, though one person was arrested at the scene for unrelated reasons, police said.

Police say there’s no current threat to the community. They’re asking anyone with information about the shooting to contact them as they investigate.

The restaurant is open and functioning as normal but management expects to have additional security present moving forward.
