One man charged with breaking into Christiansburg business and stealing guns
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. (WSET) — One person has been charged with breaking into a business and stealing guns inChristiansburg earlier this month.
On September 5, at approximately 7:22 a.m., Christiansburg Police (CPD) responded to a reported burglary at a business on the 1600 block of North Franklin Street.
Responding officers found that five guns had been stolen from the business.
Christiansburg Police began investigating and notified the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). Police said both agencies were able to track down the suspect within seven hours of the call.

Toney Lee Lanham Jr. was arrested and charged with the following:
- Breaking and entering.
- Larceny of a firearm.
- Wearing a mask to conceal identity during a crime.
- Felony vandalism.
Lanham Jr. has since been released on bond, and all weapons have been recovered.
CPD thanked the ATF for its partnership in this case. CPD also thanked the numerous citizens and loss prevention employees who helped in tracking the leads that led to the suspect’s arrest.
