One person dead from gun shot wound after truck drives through Cuba Casino, Seneca Gaming & Entertainment Oil Springs – THE WELLSVILLE SUN

An Allegany County resident with no criminal background who was known as a model citizen by local law enforcement is dead today after a public incident in Cuba.

Police said a man drive his blue pickup truck through the front entrance of the Seneca Gaming & Entertainment Oil Springs, also known as the Cuba Casino, about 45 minutes after the facility near Cuba Lake opened today.

Because a shotgun was visible, the call came in to the Allegany County 911 center indicating an armed suspect. The casino does not have public Wifi for customers to make calls or texts.

Police believe that this was a domestic dispute based on the initial investigation.

Security working at the casino did approach the vehicle after the crash, saw the weapon and the self-inflicted shot.

The casino is at 5374 West Shore Road Cuba, next to a Seneca-owned gas station. It has gaming machines only in the facility. There was a robbery by gunpoint on June 30 of 2022 at the facility. It opened on July 4, 2014.
