Open jobs and demand report released for south-central Kentucky – WNKY News 40 Television

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Open Jobs and Demand Report for November in south-central Kentucky has been released.

According to the report released by the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, out of the 10-county region, Warren County has the largest amount of job openings at 7,491.

The second highest is Barren County at 1,372, the report states. In total, the report states there are 12,024 open positions across the region.

The 10-county region includes Warren, Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe and Simpson counties.

For career positions, registered nurse is at the top spot with the most job posting at 748, while heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers are at 547 postings, the report states.

In addition, the report states the labor force participate rate for Kentucky has increased slightly from 57.3% in March 2021 to 57.6% as of the most recent data from the Federal Reserve.

The report says Kentucky is the seventh worst state, an improvement from the third worst in summer of 2020. Over the next decade, report states the region will need over 3,800 entry-level manufacturing workers and 1,687 registered nurses.
