Operation HOPE hosts seminar to help Nashville small business owners

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Operation HOPE hosted a free seminar to help small business owners and entrepreneurs in Nashville on Thursday.

The seminar discussed how attendees could grow their businesses and home ownership and the importance of money and credit management.

“Being able to know that I’m okay, make sure I have all my ducks in a row, I have my credit ready. I have financial income ready, steady income ready, building my credit,” said business owner Christiana Leavy. “We just have to get credit cards or whatever the case may be to create that leverage that we need in a bank.“

HOPE’s mission is to expand economic opportunity in the city of Nashville.

“It‘s just crazy how so many things can negatively impact it so quickly. So having an adviser, she checks in with me every couple of months seeing where I’m at. She’ll make sure if there is a negative impact on my credit, how can we fix that and get it done quickly,” said Leavy.

Operation HOPE says 68 percent of its clients improve their credit score by an average of 42 points.
