Oscars & Emmys Producer Done+Dusted Scores Investment From Endeavor-Backed Asylum Entertainment Group

EXCLUSIVE: Done+Dusted, which has produced a slew of live events including the Emmys, has new backers.

Deadline understands that the company has received investment from Asylum Entertainment Group, the Endeavor-backed company run by Steve Michaels. It’s not clear how much Asylum paid or what the stake is.

It marks the highest profile investment from Asylum since it secured its own strategic investment from Endeavor last year as it looks to create its own non-scripted production group.

It has already struck deals in the UK for a stake in Moon&Back Media, founded by veteran UK execs Dawn Airey, Nigel Hall and Russ Lindsay, Ian Lamarra’s Soho Studios, Derren Lawford’s DARE Pictures and Ladywell Films, formed by producers of Tinder Swindler. This group is now part of Endeavor’s non-scripted content division, which is run by EVP of Content Strategy & Development Rebecca Sanhueza.

Endeavor also invested in Velvet Hammer Media, led by former Warner Bros. Discovery execs Jennifer O’Connell and Rebecca Quinn last year, a deal that was done outside of its Asylum investment.

Done+Dusted was founded by Hamish Hamilton, who has directed numerous major live events including the Super Bowl half-time shows, Simon Pizey and Ian Stewart.

It is best known in the U.S. for producing the Primetime Emmy Awards three years in a row between 2020 and 2022 and the Oscars in 2024. It has also produced events such as the Opening Ceremonies of the London Olympics and The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor as well as Apple TV+’s Hannah Waddingham: Home For Christmas.
