‘Our efforts will help make a difference’: The inspiring story behind Fashion 4 A Cure 2024

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The “Fashion 4 A Cure 2024″ fundraiser was held on, Sunday, Oct. 13, at the Labetti Post to raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and support its mission of finding cures and saving children from cancer and other deadly diseases.

Created by D’Nari Wells, Fashion 4 A Cure was designed to raise awareness and funds for diseases that affect children worldwide.

Since 1962, St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and worldwide. No child is ever denied treatment because of a family’s inability to pay. With a daily operating cost of $1 billion, St. Jude depends mostly on public contributions and fundraising events, like “Fashion 4 A Cure 2024.”

“Having the opportunity to raise money for the kids of St. Jude was a great experience,” said Heather Williams, event coordinator. “The community embraced this event with tremendous support, and our efforts will help make a difference in the lives of so many children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.”

Fashion 4 A Cure 2024 was sponsored by Black Swan Beauty Salon, Bari’s Pizzeria, Tony Brick Oven, Labetti Post, Companies and Brokers of the NYSE/AMEX Stock Exchange, and The Williams Family. Sponsorship is still ongoing.

The music was sponsored by Serieaux Entertainment DJ Blakx and DJ Culture Blend and hosted by Jacqueline Lopardo Esq and Denise “Saucy Wow” Belfon.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its research and treatment of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

The hospital’s research has helped push overall survival rates for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when the institution opened to almost 80 percent today. It is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children.
