Outdoor Fitness Court Ready For Public Use At La Salle’s Rotary Park

Get fit while enjoying the outdoors at La Salle’s Rotary Park.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon to open an outdoor Fitness Court. It’s a partnership between the city of La Salle, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, and National Fitness Campaign. The fitness offering is possible because of a grant La Salle received to improve Rotary Park.

The court was created with people aged 14 and over in mind. Workouts at seven exercise stations are adaptable for all fitness levels. Users can download a Fitness Court app to enhance the wellness experience. The outdoor court is similar to one located in Ottawa’s Kiwanis Park.

La Salle Mayor Jeff Grove says it’s one more exciting step in growing Rotary Park:

As the ribbon was cut on the Fitness Court, crews were also moving dirt nearby for six pickleball courts. They will be ready for use in the spring.
