Over 400,000 Texans expected to travel for winter holidays

SAN ANTONIO – Over 400 thousand Texans are expected to catch their flights this holiday season, and just a couple of days ago, the San Antonio airport was packed.

Those 400 thousand that you mentioned haven’t made their way here inside the airport.

Because on Christmas Day, the airport has been less busy as you can see behind me.

The only part that’s packed here is the long-term parking.

Even the flights have been running smoothly.

People I’ve spoken to say that they haven’t experienced a lot of setbacks, despite the holiday.

We caught up with one couple from Richmond, Virginia, who told me they hadn’t experienced any difficulties with their travels here on Christmas.

They’re glad they made the trip to spend the holiday with their loved ones.

“Our daughter-in-law’s father is in his early 90s, and we never know when would be the last time we’ll see him,” Norm and Nomi said. “So that motivated us.”

But don’t expect the empty lines to stay empty.

The airport still expects the traffic to spike back up before New Year’s Eve.

So, if you’re planning on traveling, be ready, and be prepared.
