Overnight Peoria business burglary attempt leads to arrest

PEORIA (25News Now) – Peoria Police arrested a man who they say was trying to burglarize a local business.

The suspect, 28-year-old Bryson R. Latham, is facing a slew of charges. Those charges include:

  • Possession of burglary tools
  • Unlawful possession of a controlled substance
  • Unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Possession of a lost debit/credit card
  • Obstructing justice

Police said the burglary attempt happened just before 1 a.m. Thursday. Officers were called to the area near the U-Haul storage units on Brandywine Drive.

When they arrived, police found Latham at the scene and detained him. Police also found burglary tools and illegal drugs in his possession.

Latham was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
