HOLLAND — Need help with a growing to-do list? Locals can get help from Surv, which recently expanded to West Michigan.

The company employs locals to help with everything from painting to decluttering to odd jobs to junk removal.

Surv has established teams in Rhode Island and North Carolina, but Taylor Blom brought the business to Holland.

“It’s really about providing that piece of mind and support for people when they need it,” Blom said, adding he’s hired high school graduates and college students.

“This is an opportunity for someone to learn valuable skills that will be helpful for the rest of their lives,” he said.

The local branch covers a large portion of the lakeshore, including Holland and Zeeland and stretching into Grand Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas.

Blom is no stranger to entrepreneurial work. He served as the co-founder of Next Door Photos, established in 2012. Starting up Surv was about getting back to his entrepreneurial roots.

“It’s cross-generational work, where we’re meeting actual physical needs so someone can age in place in a healthy way, while also helping to grow and develop young leaders,” he said. “When that happens together and relationships build, I think that’s where the biggest opportunities are.”

The company offers a membership program and task-specific jobs. To learn more, visit wesurve.com.
