Packers’ shutout of Saints has NFL social media buzzing
Packers pitch shutout over the Saints to clinch playoff spot
Pete Dougherty joins Dominique Yates for takeaways from the Packers’ 34-0 win over New Orleans.
All that Green Bay Packers fans needed for Christmas was another playoff berth.
Nothing more was asked for.
But the Packers’ defense gave them all nothing anyway … nothing as in allowing zero points..
The first NFL shutout of the season.
Nothing other than that was needed.
An aces performance by the defense.
Packers 34, New Orleans Saints 0.
Sure, it’s true that the Saints didn’t exactly come marching into Lambeau Field at full strength. A lopsided loss was certainly projected with New Orleans missing offensive regulars Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave.
But the Packers turned this into a starters vs. practice squad scrimmage before the first quarter was over. Rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler never had a chance. The offense scored on five of Jordan Love’s seven drives and the Green Bay defense blanked an opponent for the first time since 2021.
It was quite a pitch for the Packers chances in the playoffs. Here’s some reaction to the shutout.
