Pak Ratz Thrift Shop hosts fashion show for Marquette Women’s Center

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – Pak Ratz Thrift Shop used fashion to raise money for the Marquette Women’s Center on Saturday.

The thrift shop in Marquette hosted a fashion show and a parking lot party. The fashion show featured 20 models strutting their stuff for the crowd. Each model chose their outfit from Pak Ratz and then models chose a word of empowerment to draw on as they walked the runway. The block party featured raffle items including tickets to Disney and Rockfest, food, and balloon animals. Andrea Numikoski, Women’s Center development director, said the show was supposed to be outside, but it wasn’t possible due to the rain, however, she was thankful volunteers were able to shift the event inside. Numikoski said they will be hosting another fashion show.

“We will have this next year,” Numikoski said. “Hopefully, Mother Nature cooperates, if not we know that we can pivot and make it work.”

All proceeds from Pak Ratz go back into the Women’s Center.
