Palm Springs funds shopping through gift card program to increase local spending
A Beginner’s Guide to Antique Shopping in the Coachella Valley
The Coachella Valley is known for its great secondhand stores, but if you have no idea where to start, let us help you.
Local shoppers can now get a boost from the city of Palm Springs through a new gift card program called Love Local Palm Springs.
The program allows participants to purchase gift cards of up to $200, with the city contributing an additional 50% to the value. This means a consumer can spend $100 on a gift card which would be worth $150 after the city’s contribution.
“The Love Local Palm Springs gift card program is a great new way to explore the vibrant Palm Springs destination and support our ultra-cool local businesses,” Mayor Jeffrey Bernstein said in a statement. “In Palm Springs, there truly is something for everyone!”
The cards are only redeemable at just over 60 local establishments, although more could be added in the coming days.
Those interested can visit lovelocalps.com to purchase the cards. A complete list of eligible restaurants and stores is also available at the site.
The city’s portion of the card must be spent by Sept. 30.
Businesses interested in participating in the program can email Dean.Grubl@palmspringsca.gov.
