Paradise man arrested for indecent exposure at shopping center parking lot, police say
PARADISE, Calif. — A town of Paradise man was arrested for indecent exposure in the parking lot of the Paradise Plaza Shopping Center after being reported by a citizen to police.
On Friday, Nov. 29 a female citizen called Paradise Police to report Terry Prill, 67, for exposing his genitalia to others while in and around the parking lot of the Paradise Plaza Shopping Center around 2:15 p.m.
According to a press release, the reporting citizen kept an eye on Prill as officers responded to the location. As Prill was attempting to leave the area in his vehicle, police said the citizen provided them with Prill’s license plate number.
Officers arrived at the location and quickly located Prill’s vehicle still within the parking lot and conducted a traffic stop. Prill exited his vehicle with his genitals still exposed according to police, officers then swiftly detained Prill to prevent additional citizens from being victimized.
The reporting citizen positively identified Prill as the person she had reported, signed a Private Person’s Arrest document – which allowed officers to take Prill into custody for the crime of indecent exposure, and stated she was afraid for the safety and welfare of young women in the area.
Using information provided by the reporting citizen, officers were also able to link Prill to an additional incident of indecent exposure, at the same location, where the suspect was previously unknown. Police said that case is being updated and sent to the District Attorney’s office with a request for prosecution.
Paradise police said they would like to thank the citizen who reported the incident, safely monitored Prill’s updated locations without confronting him, and agreed to assist in Prill’s arrest by competing a Private Person’s Arrest document.
PPD said this arrest furthers their goal in creating a safe community for Paradise families and businesses to grow and prosper.
