Parker Park community pool open for business
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) – The swimming pool at Parker Park Community Center is now open to the public.
The city of Jonesboro held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the swimming pool at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 14. The pool includes a splash pad, waterslide, diving board, basketball goal, and a shady jacuzzi in the center for the parents.
Nine-year-old Sebastian Roblero expressed his excitement for the opening. He said he walked to the pool from his house.
“I do live close so it’s going to be super easy to get here,” Roblero said.
The pool will be open every day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The entry fee for adults (16+) is six dollars, and four dollars for kids 15 years old and younger. Those younger than 15 also need to be accompanied by someone 18 or older.
Also walking over for opening day, Jonesboro resident Nichole Reynolds and her two kids said they plan to have fun in the sun every weekend.
“I hope they have season passes, that would be nice, getting to swim every weekend is so much fun,” she said.
Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver announced the city’s second HAWK light will be installed on Church Street by the community center in the near future.
