Parts of Small Business Saturday event in downtown Erie postponed because of weather
The impact of Small Business Saturday in Michigan
For every $100 spent at a local business, roughly $68 stays in the local economy, according to Governor Whitmer’s office.
The Miracle on State Street event for Small Business Saturday set to take place in downtown Erie has been postponed to Dec. 7 due to inclement weather.
“Our main concern is keeping Erie residents safe,” Dave Tamulonis, marketing manager for Erie Downtown Partnership said in an email. “We want to respect the city of Erie’s snow emergency messaging and instructions for people to keep off the roads.”
Celebrate Small Business Saturday virtually
The Erie Downtown Partnership is encouraging Erie residents to continue to support small businesses in Erie through online shopping.
“We’ll be sharing online shopping opportunities on our social media tomorrow and several brick-and-mortar stores will be open if you are able to safely make your way downtown for a snowy adventure,” Tamulonis wrote.
