Pat McAfee Says He Found the Raiders Player Making “Business Decisions” on Sunday – Raiders Beat

After Sunday’s loss to the Panthers, Antonio Pierce said that certain players were making “business decisions” late in the game and that he was going to make business decisions in return.

Piece didn’t specifically name any players, but former player and podcast host Pat McAfee thinks one of the culprits was Jack Jones.

McAfee said it was an unusually strong statement for a head coach to make about a player.

“We will let you know that within a locker room, anytime somebody calls out somebody’s business decision being made, and it doesn’t work out good… not good,” McAfee said on his weekday show. “That is a very slanderous thing to say to somebody.”

“[To say] ‘we’re making business decisions out here?’ That is a big punch right to the balls. That is a massive shot,” McAfee continued. “So then obviously you think to yourself, ‘What were the plays that he is talking about?’ The internet found it. There was a situation in the fourth quarter with Jack Jones… here it is in the fourth quarter… and that’s what a business decision looks like.”

If Jones was one of the players that Pierce was talking about, it will be interesting to see how the third-year cornerback responds. Jones was released by the Patriots last year because of character concerns, but Pierce has a unique relationship with Jones that goes back to when Jones was in high school.

Jones is considered by most to be the top cornerback on the team, and the Raiders don’t have a lot of depth at the position.

Now that Pierce has spoken publicly on the matter, he’ll have to follow through with some kind of recourse toward the players that didn’t play hard to the end of the game. It shouldn’t be hard to figure out who he was talking about, but for now, it looks like Jones will be somewhere on the list.

Here’s the play in question as pointed out by CBS Sports analyst Mike Renner…
