Penn State statistical leaders through 15 games

Penn State has played one more game than Notre Dame yet needed the same number of College Football Playoff wins to reach the Orange Bowl. The tradeoff of course is that the Nittany Lions got what originally was one more day of rest than the Irish in the week leading up to their next game. That became two more days of rest after an act of terror in New Orleans pushed the Sugar Bowl back.

Whatever happens in Miami, it will be hard to tell exactly whether the Lions having more rest made a difference. What won’t be hard to tell is who helped the Lions get to this point. That’s because as you’ll see below, those who lead them in major statistical categories are very good at what they do. On paper at least, that should scare Irish fans because this easily will be the most talented opponent their team has faced in the playoff so far.
